Description:
Printed underglaze on a large pearlware mug . This is a wrap around pattern with many design elements that depict a lakeside scene in which the action is focused on a boat with two figures setting sail while two figures observe their departure from the edge of the lake. A pagoda is featured on the left and to the right is a landscape complete with a tall tower, 2 smaller buildings, a large exotic tree and a temple-like pavilion with another figure, or perhaps a statue, standing in the doorway. This floral with medallion border is known on other unmarked hollow ware but, thus far, the maker is unknown. The pattern is a TCC assigned name
Condition: Two hairline cracks form the rim. One, 2.5″ the other 1.5″ Some restoration done around the rim where the hairline cracks are located.
