Description:
An earthenware frog mug printed underglaze in blue with the Chinoiserie Fern pattern, also known as Fern Tree. Characteristic of this Swansea pattern is the geometric border with interlocking diamonds. The handle and rim are decorated with brown enamel. The frog, painted underglaze in yellow with the eyes enameled black, climbs the wall of the mug’s interior. For a similar example, see Gray, Jonathan, editor. Condition: Very good. One minor rub to the glaze on the side of the mug
