Description:
An earthenware dinner plate printed in blue underglaze with the Fisherman Willow pattern. The presence of two fishermen in the lower left foreground has prompted the name. The willow tree resembles the buddleia tree. An alternate name is Willow Nankin. Although this plate is unmarked, a marked example with impressed G. Harrison is illustrated in “True Blue”, dating it to c.1795.
Condition: Very good.
