Description:
This earthenware dinner plate was printed with the original pattern produced from 1779-1809. It is known as Chinese Bird or Bird and Basket. The background of the wide border pattern is like ‘cracked ice’ with two alternating cartouches of various figures interacting with one another. This is one of the first blue printed patterns made by the Adams factory. The pattern was reproduced by Adams in the 20th century and proved to be very popular.
Condition: Very Good. A few knife marks on the front and a star crack to the surface glaze on the back .
