Description:
An earthenware plate printed in blue underglaze in the Chinoiserie High Bridge pattern. The two left-most figures come from the source print titled “View of the Suburbs of a Chinese City”. The boat in the center comes from “Chinese Barges of the Embassy Preparing to Pass under a Bridge” from the same book: An Authentic Account of an Embassy from the King of England to the Emperor of China: (with engravings by William Alexander), by Staunton, Sir George Leonard.
Condition: Very good. Minor staining which could be cleaned if desired.
