Description:
An earthenware plate printed in blue underglaze with a variation of the Chinese Raft pattern. See Friends of Blue Bulletin #139 pp. 10-13 for an analysis by Loren Zeller of the pattern variations for Chinese Raft as well as Chinese Raftman and Ruins, all three of which are recorded in the TCC database. Printed as an overall pattern without any border makes for a very attractive design. This pattern variation appears to have been used on dinner wares.
Condition: Very good.
