Description:
An early line-engraved, indented plate printed in blue underglaze with the Lady with Parasol pattern. It is identified as Type D by Broughton and Howard Mumford in their extensive study of this pattern and #27 on their list of its variations. The Chinoiserie butterfly border is found only on Type D. With so many variations in the pattern, there are certainly a number of different makers as well.
Condition: Very good.
