Description:
A child’s size globular shaped pearlware teapot printed underglaze with the Rocket pattern. This pattern, taken from a Chinese original, was made on pearlware by several unknown potters in addition to a marked example by STEVENSON. The pattern is most often found on hollow ware. The border, known as the Bell border, is the most commonly found border with this pattern. This pattern originated in the late 18th century.
