Description:
Sauce tureen stand, printed with the Davenport’s Chinese in Gazebo series pattern #8.  The blue printed mark also found on the back of the stand may be a transferer’s mark. Also found on the back near the mark is an impressed number “1”. In this pattern a robust Chinese male figure is seated on a raised platform in open air. He is shaded by a servant who holds an elaborate parasol. To his right and farther back is a gazebo covered by both a roof and, on top of it, is a parasol. A vase and plant is positioned in the very center of the gazebo.
