Description:
An earthenware root dish printed in blue underglaze in the Standard Willow pattern. It consists of a central oval-shaped, machine turned butter container with cover fixed centrally into an extended upright-sided stand with tapered cut off ends. For an example of this form, see Drakard and Holdway, 2002, Shape 125 on page 275. Impressed SPODE mark. c. 1800-1810.
Condition: Very Good. Only two small nicks to the rim of the butter container.
