An early large pearlware serving dish printed in blue underglaze with the Lady with Parasol pattern. It is identified as Type D by Broughton and Howard Mumford in their extensive study of this pattern and its variations. It has a scalloped shell edge border with painted blue rim. It was printed from a line-engraved pattern with rudimentary stippling. With so many variations in the pattern, there are certainly a number of different makers as well.
Condition: Good. One small chip to the edge, professionally restored.
