Description:
An earthenware covered baluster jar printed in blue underglaze in a variation of the Full Nankin pattern inspired by an original design found on Chinese porcelain wares. This 9 inch high jar (lid included) would have been originally part of a garniture set, commonly consisting of five jars and vases intended to be used as decorative pieces on a shelf or mantle. The molded lid finial is of a mother an child.
Condition: Restoration to the knob on the lid, inner flange and a restoration to the flange. Small chip to the base.
