Description:
A special bone china breakfast set printed in medium blue underglaze with the Mandarin pattern. The set rests on a silver plated stand extensively molded in a log motif. The stand is designed to hold four slices of toast and has hooks for two each knives and spoons (unfortunately no longer present). The bone china pieces consist of an open salt, a marmalade and muffineer, both with silver plated lids, two egg cups (an additional egg cup has been added) and a lidded bowl with a replacement silver plated cover. The maker is Copeland. There are two marks present on the different pieces: Copeland’s mark # 235, c. 1850-1890 and Copeland’s mark #241, “Copeland’s China, England” c. 1891+. The pattern number is 1324.
Condition: Very Good. Some wear to gilt decoration.
