Description:
An earthenware cheese stand. The pattern is known on other sizes and shapes. The people in the pattern are apparently not smoking opium, since the one pipe shown is not an opium pipe. The source prints used are from Daniell, Thomas and William. A Picturesque Voyage to India by the Way of China. The pipe smoker (reversed) is copied from “Chinese Gentleman”. The house (also reversed) is from “View in a Chinese Garden”. The woman in the background, the pagoda, and the moon gate are all from “Chinese Lady #1”.
