An outstanding example of an early baluster shaped pearlware coffee pot c 1795-1810 in blue under glaze transfer printed Chinaman with Rocket pattern. Line engraved. Rib molded body and domed lid.
This pattern was made on pearlware by several unknown potters in addition to a marked example: STEVENSON.  The pattern is most often found on hollow ware. The border, known as the Bell border, is the most commonly found border with this pattern. This pattern originated in the late 18th century.
Condition: Very good condition with only a tiny chip to rim of pot.
