An earthenware commemorative guglet printed in blue with the Pagoda and Palms pattern. The rim is enameled in deep rust red and the same color was used to paint overglaze the initials “MJ”. The date of “1806” is painted on the underside of the piece.
The guglet is a long-necked vessel used to store water or wine before it is served. The name is of Anglo-Indian origin, but is also thought to be descriptive of the sound liquid makes when it is poured and “glugs” out.
Condition:  Very Good. No damage or restoration. There is a few tiny spots where the enamel has chipped off.
