Description:
An early globular shaped pearlware teapot printed in blue with the Two Figures II pattern on one side and a decoratively framed oval on the opposite site with the name Tho’s Glue and the date 1794 painted in brown enamel in the reserve. A simple line enameled in brown is added to the collar of the pot. Floral spays were also printed around the spout and handle. Above the frame appears a punch bowl, ladle and two goblets. These images suggest that the date is one to be celebrated. A wide moth border was used to finish the decoration. Married lid.
Condition: Very good over all. The tip to the spout has been professionally restored and the vessel has been cleaned. There is an approximately 2 inch hairline in the center body on one side of the pot . A married lid of the same period replaces the original.
