A rare and fine example of an early earthenware egg stand holding five egg cups. Printed in blue underglaze with a line engraved Standard Willow pattern. The outer border consists of geometric motifs and Oriental symbols. It is a fine example of early line-engraved printing. The Standard Willow pattern was produced by more potters in the 19th century than any other pattern. Minton and Spode were the first to mark theirs.
Condition: Very good, one chip to the foot rim. Some rubbing on the edge.
