Description:
An earthenware moon-shaped flask printed in blue underglaze. Pseudo Chinese type . Attributed to Machin. The pattern was named by Renard Broughton who sees the double doors in the lower building as a storage facility. Hence Rice Store is appropriate.
This piece is documented in Chinoiserie Printed British Ceramics in the Chinese Style 1750-1900 by Halliday & Zeller, 2018.
Condition:
Very good. Very good. One 1.5″ hairline in the glaze on one side.
