Description:
An earthenware covered baluster jar printed in blue underglaze with a variation of the Full Nankin pattern inspired by an original design found on Chinese porcelain wares. This 11.75 inch high jar (lid included) would have been originally part of a garniture set, commonly consisting of five jars and vases intended to be used as decorative pieces on a shelf or mantle. The molded lid finial is of a seated putto.
