Description:
A large ewer printed in blue underglaze with the Bridge I pattern. This version of the pattern was used on a wide range of earthenware shapes including jugs, toilet wares and general utility wares. The main feature in the Bridge patterns and not found in other Chinoiserie landscape border designs is the drape. It is particularly dominant in Bridge I which has no inner Nankin or butterfly motif. Provenance: David Drakard Collection.
Condition: Good condition with only three small star cracks to the glaze only inside the body and a 1″ hairline crack to the spout.
