Description:
An 8.5″ pearlware milk or water jug printed in blue underglaze in the Buffalo or Boy on a Buffalo pattern-type D- with gilt decoration. Buffalo, one of the earliest Chinoiserie patterns, was made by several different potteries in the late 18th century. Its popularity continued for about 50 years.
Condition:  Very good. Tip of the handle’s terminal was professionally restored.
