Description:
An earthenware jug printed in blue underglaze with a variation of the Emerging Boat pattern. The variation found on this example is the large land mass to the left and another willow tree of different design from the very large willow tree in the pattern. A portion of the willow tree at the top is cut of suggesting that a pattern designed for a larger piece was applied to the jug. The inner border is reminiscent of the Andrew Stevenson leaf border found on a large marked mug in this collection.
Condition: Very good condition with just one small chip on the beak.
