Description:
An earthenware mug printed in blue underglaze in the Flying Pennant pattern. The pattern was produced by Herculaneum from 1805-1810 and also by Spode and others. This pattern is similar to the Herculaneum pattern, but not an exact match. The border is a close match to Herculaneum, therefore is was probably made by the Herculaneum factory. It is a large mug with a handle well designed to facilitate holding the vessel full of liquid. The two charming figures on the bridge are engaged in conversation.
Condition: Very good.
