Description:
A large earthenware wash jug printed in blue with the Malayan Long House pattern. The border on the jug contains a bold and decorative combination of flowers including tulips, and this border pattern is repeated on the inner collar of the jug. The maker of this pattern is unknown but some attribute the pattern to the Cambrian Pottery, Swansea. See Minnie Holdaway’s reference to this pattern in Gray’s “Welsh Ceramics in Context Part II,” page 106, plate 5.31.  Alternate name is and “Malayan Long Hut.”

Condition:  Very Good. Professional restoration to the tip of the spout.
