Description:
A rare earthenware cream jug printed in blue with the Parasol Willow pattern with two different borders printed in yellow on a brown ground and blue painted lines that frame the borders. A floral spray is printed in blue under the spout of the jug.  While not marked, the jug was probably made by W. Daniel.  An example of this pattern marked Daniel is recorded in this collection. Daniel operated the Newport Pottery at Burslem, Staffordshire c. 1786-1810. Distinguishing features include: A woman with an umbrella (parasol) standing to the right in the foreground with a child standing next to her; a large boat with sail and pennant, and three willow trees in the upper half of the scene.

Condition:
Very Good: A small chip to the inner border.
