Description:
A pearlware loving cup with pedestal base printed in blue underglaze with an early Chinoiserie pattern provisionally named “Bird Vendor.” Both the inner and outer borders are printed in blue with a pattern combining the Prince of Wales and the quiver and arrow symbols along with a floral motif, which could be the rose of Sharon. The handles are printed with a floral and leaf pattern. The base of the pedestal is decorated with a line painted blue ground.
Condition: Good. This cup has been professionally restored. At least two significant hairlines have been restored and areas of the border pattern have been painted in.
