Description:
A large earthenware mug printed in dark blue underglaze with the Buddleia Nankin pattern. It is recorded in the TCC database as “Buddleia Nankin #03”. The pattern resembles the Willow Nankin design but stands apart due to two significant differences; there are no birds and the willow tree has been replaced by the buddleia tree. The outer trellis diaper border and the inner border with honeycomb motif are the same borders used for Buddleia Nankin #01. This pattern is commonly found on plates and platters
