Description:
A large earthenware molded cabbage-leaf mug. This mug was printed with two patterns, “Man in a Canoe” and The Chequered Walled Steps pattern. The latter is named for the unusual chequered (checkered) wall design on both sides of the steps leading to the two pagoda-style buildings. To the left and bottom of the pattern two figures are seen in a reserve. The geometric border pattern and molded shape may point to an attribution to the Cambrian Pottery. Handle with molded feather design. Cylindrical shape.
Condition: Very Good.
