Description:
Buddleia Nankin #1 pattern. This round plate, dating to before 1805, resembles the Willow Nankin pattern; however there are two large differences. There are no birds in this pattern, and the willow tree has been replaced by the buddleia tree. These differences have removed the pattern from being considered a copy of a Chinese original. The pattern appears on plates with and without a foot rim, and there are enough differences that it may have been produced by more than one pottery.
Condition: Very good: Just two tiny chips to the rim.
