Description:
An earthenware plate printed in blue with the Chinese Raft pattern. Round shape. This Chinese scene, with the prominent feature being a boy on a raft, is a variation of Chinese Raft. In this version, the engraver chose to adorn most of the figures with hats. Additionally, the interior of the summer house is now decorated with three statues set in individual, arched niches and with paneling on the lower half of the interior. The border of the “Chinese Raft” pattern, which is framed with a very simple line and fish eye pattern, is replaced with two, more complex and stylized floral and fruit patterns. The outer pattern appears to consist of small rounded fruits with leaves and the inner is made up of a circular floral pattern.
Condition:  Very good.
