Description:
An earthenware dinner plate printed in blue. Ocher enameled rim. This pattern was treated as an all-over pattern. A thin linear border consisting of circles with dots serves as the outer border. In relief are Four Dogs or Fo (These are protectors of Chinese temples and here incorrectly termed ‘Dragons’) symmetrically arranged with their feet on four snakes. Behind them is a net with reserves containing Oriental domed buildings. Each reserve appears twice around the rim. Recorded with the title given here in True Blue Case 2/6. Also known with clobbering (Friends of Blue Bulletin 117, p.8).
Condition: Very good.
