Description:
An earthenware soup dish printed in ultramarine underglaze with the Lange Lijzen pattern.  Also a blue printer’s mark “A.” Round shape with lobbed edge. “S.B. Williams credits the Dutch with giving the pattern this name which means ‘slender damsel.’ An alternate name for the pattern is “Long Eliza.” From an original Chinese design that dates from the K’ang Hsi period, c. 1700-1722.
