Description:
An octagonal indented earthenware dinner plate printed in blue with the Two Figures II pattern. An earlier form of Two Figures was produced by unknown potters; however the only marked examples are by Spode and known as Two Figures I. The 2 figures in that pattern appear to be moving from right to left whereas they are facing each other in this pattern. This plate represents the ‘standard’ version of Two Figures II. The border on this plate is actually the border most often found on Full Nankin pattern by Caughley and others.
Condition: Good: One 1/8″ and two very tiny chips to the rim.
