An earthenware platter printed with an unusual pattern known as Chinese Fisher Boys. While the documented pattern name (see Friends of Blue exhibition catalog, True Blue, Case 2 #13) is descriptive of the three figures in the lower left foreground, it is the unusual animal in the background that lends particular character to the pattern. The animal has been dubbed “Cameleopard,” and is similar to the giraffe in Minton’s Camel and Giraffe pattern.
Condition: Very good. Very slightly warped while in the kiln.
