Description:
Earthenware platter printed with the Chinese Flowering Pot pattern. The central pattern depicts a garden scene with two figures facing a large urn with flowers. In the background are four figures in a boat on a lake and a bridge, mountains and a castle-like building. The border for this transitional chinoiserie design consists of a combination of flowers and cartouches with two scenes with Chinese figures and two with exotic birds. The only mark is an impressed “16” indicating the size of the platter.
Condition: Very Good. Only minor wear to the surface and rubbing around the edge due to use.
