Description:
An impressively large earthenware well and tree platter printed with the Lange Lizjen pattern.  Rectangular indented shape. Also found on the reverse is a workman’s transfer printed “A” mark.
S.B. Williams credits the Dutch with giving the pattern this name which means ‘slender damsel.’ An alternate name for the pattern is “Long Eliza.” The pattern is a close copy of a Chinese design that dates from the K’ang Hsi period, c. 1700-1722.
Condition: . Very good with one small nick in the glaze on the front surface of the inner edge of the rim.
