The pattern printed on this teapot is very similar to one that Coysh documented made by Shorthose & Co., c. 1815 or earlier, using the alternate name of “One-man/Insect Willow Pattern.” Small details differ such as the type of boat, formation of flock of birds and some of the vegetation. There are many other types of Chinoiserie patterns with one man on the bridge. An 18th century Chinese teapot with a one-man on the bridge pattern was the design used by many potters for this type of pattern including Chinaman with Rocket and One-man Insect Willow.
Condition:  Good. There are a number of small chis around the lid and one slightly larger on the handle.
