Description:
Although unmarked, the Shepherd pattern is documented by Geoffrey Priestman in his book on Minton. He illustrates two teapots and a coffee pot with very little rearranging of the pattern elements on pp 111-112. This teapot was purchased from the Priestman Collection and is the one discussed in his book. Priestman points out that Minton may not be the only factory to produce the pattern. Many factories used this teapot shape, and the secondary patterns on the handle and spout are not the same as on known Minton pieces. Therefore, it can not attributed with certainty this teapot to Minton. The finial form is of a sybil.
Condition:  Good. One .5″ restoration to the collar and one .125″ chip on the lid.  The finial has been broken off and re-glued and it has a few rubbed spots.
