Description:
This earthenware teapot is printed underglaze in blue with the Zebra pattern. The border pattern, printed on the top of the bulbous body and on the lid, consists of a combination of flowers, fruits and contrasting elements. While the pattern is nearly identical to that of Roger’s “Zebra” pattern, also found on two platters in this collection, the border pattern is quite distinct from the latter. A similarly shaped teapot can be found in Miller and Berthoud’s Anthology of British Teapots, plate 450. The pattern is recorded in the TCC Pattern Database.
Condition:  Good. One chip to the collar or cape of the pot.
