Description:
A handled pearlware rectangular tray printed in blue underglaze in the Buffalo pattern. This pattern is also referred to as Boy on a Buffalo. The Buffalo pattern is one of the earliest to be transfer-printed on earthenware and was taken from a popular pattern found on Chinese export porcelains.
Condition: One corner has been broken off and re-glued. A chip under the rim on the other side has been re-glued.
