An earthenware baluster-shaped vase with lid printed in blue underglaze with the Buffalo pattern, Variation Feather Heads, with a Lattice border. The lid is topped with a molded dog finial. This version of the Buffalo pattern is distinct because of the feather hats worn by the three figures. The pattern can be attributed to Spode. It has a known Spode Workman’s mark. See Copeland, Spode’s Willow Pattern and Other Designs after the Chinese, page 116, for an example of this pattern.
Condition: Very Good. Professional restoration to a chip on the base and to the lid. A few tiny chips around the inner sleeve of the lid (see image).
