Description:
A very rare pair of tall hexagonal earthenware jars with original matching lids printed in blue with the Malayan Long House pattern. The rarity of these large vases is attributed to their size. It was unusual to have decorative objects of this size successfully kiln fired in earthenware in this period. The maker of these handsome vases is unknown.
Condition:  The vases have been professionally restored. Vase I had some damage to the rim which was rebuilt and hand painted. At least one chip to the lid on each has been professionally restored. Vase II had 2 hairline cracks approximately 8-10″ in length. The hairlines have  been sealed and professionally restored.
