Description:
A large early indented earthenware platter line-engraved printed in blue underglaze in the Two Figures II pattern. This platter represents the ‘standard’ version of Two Figures II.  It has the standard center pattern and is marked with an a blue printed eight-pointed daisy, which has been attributed to the Cambrian Pottery. The border is described as ‘trellis and recumbent silkworm’ This pattern was also made by, Spode, Leeds Pottery,John Harrison, and other potters, usually on unmarked wares. The pattern was copied from a Chinese original hand painted design.
Condition: Very Good. One small glaze chip to the edge of the rim, minor knife marks.
