Description:
A machine turned low profile earthenware mug printed in blue underglaze with the Long Bridge with Support pattern. A similar pattern appears on a teapot in reverse illustrated on p. 176 in  Robin Emmerson’s book titled British Teapots & Tea Drinking, London, 1992.  A name was not given to the pattern; however, the long supported bridge is the most prominent feature in the pattern. The teapot has been tentatively attributed to Barker; therefore, while this mug is unmarked, it may be a possible attribution to this early 19th century pattern.
Condition: Good: One chip to the outside rim and one to the base. Some rubbing on the handle.
