Description:
An earthenware molded cabbage leaf mug printed in blue underglaze with the Eastern Garden Scene pattern. This is a good example of what is commonly referred to as Transitional Chinoiserie, as it combines design elements after the Chinese as well as landscape elements from the Orient.  An unusual curving bridge is on the side of the mug.
Condition: Very Good. There is a firing flaw in the rim. A firing crack around a portion of the lower handle terminal and another firing crack in the glaze only on the inside bottom of the mug.
