Description:
An earthenware dessert plate printed with a pattern found on tea and coffee wares. The pattern is repeated three times in a circular fashion around the plate. Alternating scroll and floral oval motifs complete the outer circular design. In the center is a circular floral spray design. The pattern consists of two small Chinese figures, one with an umbrella, a small dog, trees and buildings. All of these design elements are framed by an overall chintz-like pattern. Another example of this pattern can be found on a large coffee pot in this collection, see item C15.
