Description:
A large and fine early Harley type molded pearlware teapot printed in blue underglaze with the Mandarin pattern.  The pattern was copied from a Chinese original porcelain design and produced on porcelain c. 1780 at Caughley and known, then, as Willow-Nankin. The second company to produce the pattern was Spode. It was printed on bone china, pearlware and stoneware. the Mandarin pattern continued to be made by Copeland throughout the 19th century and by many other manufacturers continuing into the 20th century. Condition:  Good. Some restoration to the spout and the molded collar of the pot.
